Backpacking and Hammock Camping in the Red River Gorge, Kentucky

Had a combo Truck camping, backpacking, and hammock camping adventure this past weekend in the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. On Friday evening, we truck and tent camped on Rock Bridge Road and then on Saturday met up with a group to take the Wildcat Trail to the Swift Camp Creek trail for some excellent sites right next to the creek. The rain was in the forecast at 80% at one point but we were lucky that only a few scattered storms passed over us. After a great night sleep in my new Raven Hammock by Dream Hammock, we hiked back up to the cars and had some much-deserved pizza and Ale8 at Miguel’s. Which is something you should never skip if you ever go to Red River Gorge.

Nuts…I missed y’all again lol! I was cutting trees out on Sheltowee. That snow we got on the 11th brought many down.
Beautiful area, Swift Camp Creek – undoubtedly my favourite trail here. Great setup you have! That tarp looks feather-light. 😀
