This hike was one that I have been wanting to do for some time. It is a relatively easy 6.6 out and back hike with only the first mile or so being the most difficult. The pay off for this hike is three of the most beautiful blue glacier fed mountain lakes you can imagine. I only saw one of them and we also had a surprise visitor on the trail but I would recommend this hike to anyone.
In this video, we arrived at Estes Park Campground to stay for a few nights (cannot say enough good things about this campground by the way) and we explored RMNP, Trail Ridge Road, and Grand Lake. This was a few days of some pretty awesome adventuring
Wow 2016 has been an epic year of travel and adventure for me. As I was looking back on all my videos, it became so clear that I have been to and seen many places. I hope you enjoy this look back on my year of hiking, camping, backpacking, and kayaking
During our Colorado Trip, we stopped off in Buena Vista to visit a good friend of mine Brian Galyon from Colorado Backcountry Adventures. Brian always knows the best camp spots and he took us to the Browns Creek Campground area which is located between Buena Vista and Salida Colorado at the base of Mt Antero. You can watch the video here: Campsite Tour
One of the most beautiful stops we made on our Colorado and Utah adventure was to Rocky Mountain National Park. We drove along the trail ridge road and up to an elevation of about 12,000 feet. We stopped at various spots to capture these magnificent views. It truly is one of the prettiest places I have ever been to. At one point, we stopped to go up a trail called the tundra communities trail. It wasn’t very long but it was very windy. It was on this trail that I had a marmot come right up to me as if to ask me to take his picture. I obliged of course and watched him for a brief while until it became just too cold and windy to do so. This vacation with my kids was a dream of mine for so long and I am glad I got to share the experience with them.
