Solo Hammock Camp Overnighter at the Red River Gorge

This past black Friday, I decided to get out of town and let the consumerism zombies have at each other. My destination was the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. It is one of my favorite places to camp, backpack, and hike. I set out to find Hanson’s Point which is an overlook off an unofficial trail.

Why I Hike 2016 Year in Review

Wow 2016 has been an epic year of travel and adventure for me. As I was looking back on all my videos, it became so clear that I have been to and seen many places. I hope you enjoy this look back on my year of hiking, camping, backpacking, and kayaking

Brown County State Park Indiana Trail #10

This past weekend, I set out to practice some of my photography skills (or to gain some) and really had no intention of hiking. When I got the Brown County State Park, I saw there was a small 2.2 mile trail that looked relatively easy to do so I went ahead and gave it a try. It was a very pleasant hike and even though all the leaves are gone, I got some great views.

2016 Smoky Mountain Adventure

This was my second annual trip to the Smoky Mountains to hike up to the Mt LeConte lodge. We took this trip on November 11th and 12th, approximately 11 days prior to the wildfires that started there. I had some crazy things happen to me along the trail and I was completely exhausted at the end but I am so glad I got to see the beauty of the mountains one last time before they would be completely changed by the carelessness of two teens.

Brown County Indiana Fall Leaf Viewing

The fall colors here in Indiana have not been that spectacular and so I wanted to see what I could before they were gone. I took a trip to one of my favorite nature preserves to see what colors I could and I am inviting you to come with me.

2016 Linville Gorge Camping Adventure

On October 21st to 23rd, I took a trip to the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area in North Carolina to camp next to the Linville River with a good friend of mine. It was two days of beautiful nature and I want to share it with you.
